This compound acts on the skin through phosphatase enzymes present in the epidermis, which convert ascorbyl phosphate magnesium into ascorbic acid, allowing it to perform its functions. It inhibits melanogenesis by reducing the activity of tyrosinase, an enzyme essential for the production of melanin, promoting the lightening of spots and uniformity of skin tone.
